The session identifies and explores which business approaches and actions have proven to be the most effective in tackling child labour, both before and during the pandemic, drawing on best practices from both agriculture and manufacturing. Using real-life case study examples presented by businesses from across different sectors, the cases demonstrate how companies can take practical steps to develop scalable, impactful, and resilient systems to address child labour and advance child rights.
The event will include reflections from The Centre for Child Rights and Business’s work with companies to address child labour, including insights from recent research into best practice approaches to addressing child labour in times of crisis by The Centre’s CEO, Ines Kaempfer. This will be followed by a panel discussion featuring speakers from ALDI and Tony’s Chocolonely who will reflect on their companies’ approaches to tackling child labour, as well as UNICEF who will share insights on how to get more companies to adopt best practice approaches to child labour, including engagement with business and broader government and other stakeholders.
