Benjamin is the Senior Child Labour Specialist of the International Labour Organization. He supports ILO member States in the development and implementation of policies and programmes to tackle child labour. He has managed a project covering twelve countries to promote education as an alternative to child labour, and spearheaded the launch of the Child Labour Platform, a business network to address the problem in supply chains. He began his career with the ILO in 2000 in Costa Rica and from 2002-2006 led a ground-breaking project to eliminate child labour in El Salvador. He began his career as a Presidential Management Fellow with the U.S. Department of Labor’s International Bureau of Labor Affairs
The event focuses on raising awareness of how child labour in sport leads to rights being compromised and violated, and providing guidance about how to prevent it.
