Lina Nataly Alvarado Riaño is a youth activist born in Cali, Colombia. She has been working to defend child rights and free education for more than 10 years and is currently the national youth coordinator for the 100 Million campaign in Colombia. Leading a team of fellow youth activists across her country, Lina is a strong advocate for the protection of vulnerable children and the elimination of child labour in all its forms. 100 Million Colombia carries out youth-led creative campaigning, advocacy, and communications to raise awareness about child labour and regularly brings together young people with national and regional decision-makers to collaborate on efforts for its elimination. Lina has spoken at a number of high-level events to champion the importance of children and young people being involved in decisions that affect their lives.
The event discusses how young people, student leaders and survivor advocates have been on the frontlines of the effort to eliminate child labour in Africa and globally.
