Silvana Bitencourt Machado

Ms. Silvana Bitencourt Machado is the Deputy General Inspector of Labour and Social Security of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security of Uruguay. She has a PHD in Law and Social Sciences from the University of the Republic of Uruguay and is specialized in environmental working conditions, occupational accidents, and violation of fundamental worker rights. Her experience includes advisory for the Ministry of Labour in consultations and hearings, and in the Legal Division of the General Inspection of Labor and Social Security. Silvana presides the National Committee to the Eradication of Child Labour and is the focal point of Uruguay on the Regional Initiative Latin America and the Caribbean free of Child labour.
