Alicia Tauro is a Project Lead for Child and Youth rights at Youth for Unity and Voluntary Action (YUVA) and has been working with the urban poor in informal settlements in India. She has a Masters degree in Social Work from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences and is passionate about building the leadership of young girls and women to advocate for a more gender equitable world. She served as the Thematic Focal Point for the United Nations mandated space for Children and Youth (UNMGCY) and convened young people around the world on SDG 8 for Decent Work. She is currently the State Chapter Convener for the Campaign Against Child Labour (CACL) for the elimination of child labour in India.
