Elly Rosita Silaban

Ms. Elly is the president of KSBSI – Konfederasi Serikat Buruh Seluruh Indonesia, The Confederation of All Indonesian Trade Unions, who is also the ITUC affiliate. She was born in North Sumatera, and has been a member of workers’ organizations since 1995. She holds several positions in various unions as listed below: Migrant Worker Department SBSI (1997-2000), Deputy head of Garment and Textile Federation SBSI (2001-2007), Head of Garment and Textile Federation KSBSI (2007-2015), Project Advisory Committee member ILO Better Work Indonesia, 2011 - present, National Monitoring Committee of H&M 2017 - present, Gender Task Force ILO Bangkok, 2019 - present, General Council International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), Chairperson of L20 in the G20 Presidency of Indonesia 2022, IEA (International Energy Agency) Clean Energy Labour Council as independent panel 2022 – present, and President of KSBSI (2019-2023).
