Jeni Sorensen is a human trafficking specialist with 20 years of experience designing and managing programs to combat human trafficking in the U.S. and around the world. Ms. Sorensen currently serves as Director of Innovation for Poverty Action’s Human Trafficking Research Initiative (HTRI), which fosters partnerships between researchers and program implementers to build and carry out rigorous research studies and promote the use of evidence-based practices. Ms. Sorensen serves on the steering committee of the Monitoring and Evaluation of Trafficking in Persons (METIP) Community of Practice and is a victim services volunteer with the Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force in southern California.
The event describes the progress that has been made in building the evidence base on child labour, forced labour, and human trafficking, and highlight gaps in knowledge to bridge these gaps.
