María Luz Ortega is a highly credentialed academic and thought leader on several key issues relating to global development policies and interventions. She is one of the founding members of the Spanish Network of Development Researchers and one of the key authors of Spain’s early Strategic Plan on Education for Development. In 2018 as part of the State Secretariat for Development Policies, she led the development of the Action Plan for Spain’s Implementation of the 2030 Agenda. Since 2015, the AACID has closely accompanied the work of the Regional Initiative Latin America and the Caribbean Free of Child Labour, contributing to the development of tools and their territorial application, tangibly supporting progress towards the achievement of Target 8.7 of the 2030 Agenda.
